I just don’t like this woman.
That would work if money was a like a pie, where you have a finite amount to go around. Unfortunately the economy does not work that way.
“The economy” meaning the current capitalist structure ‘works’ by systematically creating a work force that is too sick and weak (financially and socially) to NOT work, thus causing them to take the lowest paid jobs (the only ones that will hire them), and this system runs on the backs of the people who cannot afford to miss work if they want to put food on the table. If they get sick, they better hope its nothing serious because they can’t afford to go to a doctor. They don’t have health insurance because that is a luxury, they have no room to consistently fork over $100 a pay check for health insurance (not unrealistic number, mind you). And that is only if you have a job that offers health insurance, and that is only if you have worked at the job for x number of months/years to qualify to buy health insurance.
Capitalism works because it systematically financially oppresses the working class into overworking to buy things they need, and to buy the things that keeps the economy afloat. Capitalism DEPENDS on a naive working class to not only overwork themselves, but to also buy their products.
Capitalism is a vile system. It does ‘work’ in an economic sense. But this is 2012. We should have moved past this long ago.
Woah wait, who has an infinite amount of pie?
